Today I received an email from Cardesign.ru announcing me that finally they made an English language version of their popular car design website and called it: Cardesign Community dot Com

The decision was taken because of encrease of not Russian public, so please go visit the site which is one of the best on Car Design creativity.

Luciano Bove Car Designer new profile on Facebook

 Dear friends,

beginning August I decided to open a new page on Facebook about my professional profile. I did it for 2 reasons the first is that not all of you or others go look around on Linkedin where I have already my professional profile, the second is because many of you ask me if I am still a car designer or other infos regarding my professional experiences.

This is normal, I write a lot about advices and tips on car design education and for some of you it is not so easy to know more about me. So who am I?

Now a new page on Facebook is open with some detailed infos about me, some links of interviews I had the pleasure to have, articles I wrote published on other sites and also photos about me on the job (naturally only stuff legally publishable) and some of my old sketches.
You will also find infos about my old design school activities as teacher and latest workshops I did.

I hope you like this initiative and I really hope you will all become fans of this page and that you will spread the word to collect as many fans as possible :)

Texas Motors competition by Local Motors

Texas Motors has launched!

Regular pickup trucks do not fulfill all the needs of an avid hunter.  The Local Motors community aims to remedy this fact by designing a hunting vehicle for the gamers of Texas. 

The Challenge: Design a dynamic hunting vehicle for the great state of Texas.  This vehicle should be a ready-made solution for hunters of every variety; whether hunting stags or fowl, this compartmentalized home base vehicle can do the job. 

The Community:  All Local Motors Community Members ages 18 and older are invited to participate in this competition.  Join Local-Motors.com today to familiarize yourself with the open design process, and collaborate with other designers, engineers and car enthusiasts from Texas.  The community votes to choose the winner.

The Prize: All designs in the Local Motors community have a shot at the biggest prize: an opportunity to see your design built, and on the road. 

1^st Place $1,500; 2^nd Place $300; 3^rd Place $200

Top 3 designers earn Winner Status within the Local Motors community, as well as exclusive LM winner's T-Shirts.

Back to school!

Hi friends,

vacation time is over and we are ready to go back to school to complete our design courses or we are just getting in to start for the first time a design course.

In any case I wish to all of you to start strong and motivated, remember that to follow a design course means a lots of sacrifices - competition - exercise - and most of all lots of creativity.

Do not be shy, remember that in school you must exercise your creativity the best you can. Try new techniques, be curious, learn hot to work in team, for those that are following their last year be prepared to make a good portfolio do not forget it! Any project or sketch save it and look at it at the end of the year, search for a stage or internship before your diploma.

I'll be there with my tips hoping to serve you the best I can!

It is summer time!

Dear friends,

it is time to take a couple of weeks off. It is time to relax after another year of work (Renault) design schools cooperation (IAAD Turin) writing articles (VirtualCar.it and Carbodydesign.com) and naturally feeding this blog.

Thank you for following me, you are always more and more. I wish you a great vacation, relax and have fun because from september many of you will start school...Ciao!

Local-Motors.com best cardesigner community on-line

This great color illustration has been done by ACCD student Nikita Bridan, this student is part of an on-line community for designers and car nuts named Local-Motors.com (in which I signed in few weeks ago).

At this link you will find Nikita's works (impressive) and searching on the site you will also discover many other car freaks with great drawings and sketches...for sure a great help to all car design students reading this post.

National Design Award from Graphic Design USA

Illustrator Louis Simeone has recently been awarded the prestigious American Graphic Design Award in the 2007 Graphic Design:USA competition.
